The Glasgow and Clyde Valley Structure Plan Joint Committee

The GCVSPJC is a Local Government Joint Committee comprising East Renfrewshire and seven other Local Authorities (Glasgow City, East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde) (each incorporated under The Local Government (Scotland) Act 1994) in the Glasgow metropolitan area working together on strategic development planning matters.

Glasgow & Clyde Valley Green Network

The Glasgow and Clyde Valley (GCV) Green Network Partnership brings together the eight regional local authorities, Scottish Government Housing & Regeneration Directorate, Forestry Commission Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Glasgow Centre for Population Health.
The Green Network is an ambitious 20 year programme, which will link parks, walkways, woodlands and countryside along miles of path and cycle routes bringing a range of social, economic and environmental benefits to the Glasgow metropolitan region.

Scottish Government

The devolved Government for Scotland is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs and transport. The current administration was formed after elections in May 2007.

Directgov

Directgov provides information from UK government departments and elsewhere on topics ranging from completing your driving test or parental leave to finding a job or a local NHS service.

NHS Scotland

The Scottish Government Health Directorate is responsible both for NHS Scotland and for the development and implementation of health and community care policy.

Commonwealth Games Legacy

On 9 November 2007, Scotland's bid to host the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 was successful.

Travel information

We want to promote public transport as a relatively affordable, convenient, reliable, accessible and safe means of getting around, both locally and further afield. However it can be difficult to obtain timetable and route information. In order to overcome this, the government has set up the Traveline service, which provides a wealth of information about most forms of public transport across Britain. To access Traveline call 0870 608 2608 or visit the Traveline website.

If you have any further queries regarding public transport in East Renfrewshire please call us on 0141 577 3425.
