| One of the Fair events was a race around the square from the Eglinton Arms hotel, up Polnoon Street, along Mid Road, and back down Montgomery Street to the cross. The prize was the 'Kilmarnock Bonnet', a large hat worn by the oldest Feuar in the Fair parade. |
