Scotlands People Voucher Scheme

Discounted vouchers for the ScotlandsPeople website are available from any East Renfrewshire library

Scotland's People is a partnership between The National Records of Scotland and The Court of the Lord Lyon.  It offers access to over 50 million records covering the whole of Scotland, including:

  • statutory registers (birth, marriage and death certificates)
  • old parish registers
  • Catholic registers
  • census records
  • wills and testaments
  • valuation rolls

You can search these records and view images of the documents, which you can save and print off.

The no-fuss vouchers remove the need for making credit card payments online, and can be used anywhere with Internet access*. However, using them in your local library will give you access to support from library staff.

Please note: vouchers can only be purchased by visiting our community libraries in person and should be used for non-commercial research.

Cost of vouchers

*Please note: Top up vouchers purchased through our libraries are only valid for use with accounts created using a starter voucher purchased through the same scheme. They cannot be used to top up existing accounts.

  • Starter voucher - £7.00 for 60 credits (normally £7.00 for 30 credits)
  • Top up voucher - £5.60 for 30 credits (20% discount)
